Examination Awards


STATE SECTOR GROUP AWARD
Awarded annually to the highest placed candidate in the Cadastral Law examination conducted by the Survey and Spatial NZ. The award was established at the suggestion of the State Sector Group following its dissolution in January 1998 and is intended to acknowledge academic excellence.

PERCY DYETT AWARD
Recognises the best land development engineering candidate in the Professional Entrance Examinations. The award was established from a legacy from the estate of Henry Lewis Percy Dyett, Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Surveyors and Member of the Survey Board for 23 years from 1942 - 1965. It is intended to encourage a greater interest and all-round knowledge of engineering and to encourage candidates to professionally present themselves and their project to the S+SNZ Admissions Panel. It is awarded annually, on the recommendation of the S+SNZ Admissions Panel, to the best overall Land Development Engineering candidate in the Professional Entrance Examinations.

MAURICE CROMPTON-SMITH AWARD
Recognises the best set of projects for a Certificate of Competency. The purpose of the award is to perpetuate the memory of Maurice Crompton-Smith (1865-1953), Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Surveyors, Editor of the Journal and Secretary of the Survey Board. It is awarded annually, on the recommendation of the S+SNZ Admissions Panel, to the candidate submitting the best set of projects for a Certificate of Competency, which in concept, content and presentation are deemed by the Admissions Panel to be worthy of the award.
