Laws and Regulations Panel member vacancy

Are you interested in ensuring that the standard of surveyors in New Zealand being issued with Cadastral Survey licence have been tested in their knowledge, interpretation and application of law relating to cadastral surveys to meet the requirements of the Cadastral Surveyors Licensing Board of New Zealand?

If the answer is ‘yes’ then we have a role for you.

To be a surveyor in New Zealand requires an understanding of the law relating to cadastral surveying. The Cadastral Law Examination ensures this knowledge is gained and a pass is required before candidates can sit for their Professional Entrance Examination.

The Survey and Spatial New Zealand Laws and Regulations Panel sets and conducts the Cadastral Law examination. It ensures the examination is conducted in accordance with good practice and that the examination aligns with the competency standards that the CSLB set.

The panel is looking for a new member who has an interest in cadastral law to join the panel immediately to enable the Cadastral Law examination in June 2020 to be conducted.

It is preferable that the person holds or has held a cadastral licence. Reimbursement to fulfil this role to conduct the examinations can be claimed.

Without the support of the members of Survey and Spatial NZ who volunteer their time the Examinations process cannot continue. The role is rewarding and a great way to keep your knowledge current.

For further information on this position and a copy of the terms of reference contact Jo Johnston, Chairperson Examinations Committee, examinationschair@surveyspatialnz.org

Applications close on Friday 27 March 2020.
