• Does the idea of work/life balance within a culture of professional development interest you?

• Position available in either Wellington, Hamilton or Christchurch

An opportunity has come up for a Senior Survey Advisor to join the Office of the Surveyor-General here at LINZ. Ideally, you are a licensed cadastral surveyor with broad experience in the survey and property development sector, looking to expand and further build upon your career in a regulatory environment.

If the thought of working in a regulatory area doesn’t excite you, think again. This is an opportunity to work closely with subject matter experts and experience survey work from a different perspective. Developing this combination of practical and regulatory experience will see you positioned as an industry-leading expert, at the forefront of the future of the cadastral survey system in New Zealand.

You would be joining a team of specialists who take pride in providing expert advice on the cadastral survey system, with a focus on regulatory aspects. As a Senior Survey Advisor, you can expect to provide expert advice on the survey and property services to the Surveyor-General, the wider LINZ business and our key stakeholders and customers. This role is an opportunity to be involved in investigating survey anomalies, providing guidance to surveyors, monitoring compliance and assessing dispensation requests. With your passion for surveying, you’ll enjoy taking this chance to contribute to the continuous improvement of the survey system as well as being involved upfront in the implementation of the new survey rules and the future of Landonline through the Survey & Title Enhancement Programme.

At LINZ we aim to set our new staff up for success and long-term opportunities for professional development and enjoyable career pathways with us. To help you in this role, a strong understanding of the cadastral survey system and its records is essential along with solid analytical and reasoning skills.

You will also have excellent communication skills and a willingness to work collaboratively to build strong relationships within the team, across LINZ and with stakeholders.
