Farewell to Daniel Williams, Board Chair

At the March Board meeting, long-term Board member and Chair, Daniel Williams was farewelled after 9 years on the Board, 4 of those as Chair.

With over 25 years experience as a surveyor – 15 of those as Managing Director of Woods - Daniel brought a wealth of experience to the role and applied his astute strategic thinking to a wide range of issues which affected our professions over that time.

Under his leadership the Board has established, and maintained, a professional team based in Wellington, worked to ensure that the various professional and organisational expectations of the Council have been met or are in the process of being achieved, maintained our sound financial position and improved our balance sheet, improved the quality of our service to members across a range of activities, and stewarded us through the unique complexities of a pandemic.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude, to Daniel, for his outstanding service to S+SNZ and we are delighted to advise that he will still fulfil some other roles for the organisation on various committees ensuring that his skills and expertise will be available to us for a while yet.

Mike Benning of Harrison and Grierson has taken over the role of Chair.
