Otago Student Wins Inaugural KCT Stirling Scholarship
Congratulations to Francesca Robb who has won the inaugural Kairūri Community Trust Stirling Scholarship. Francesca is a final year Bachelor of Surveying (Hons) student at Otago University.
The scholarship includes a $2500 cash prize plus support to attend the upcoming Survey and Spatial NZ conference being held in Rotorua, early August.
At the conference Francesca get the opportunity to share her submission titled ‘The Challenges for Early Year Survey Graduate in a Rapidly Evolving Market’.
Jayne Perrin KCT Trustee says the trustees were "thrilled by the number of applications received, the variety of lines of study being undertaken by the candidates and the overall quality of responses".
The scholarship has been made possible by the Stirling family through a generous donation from the Ian and Margaret Stirling Fund in 2021. The purpose of the fund is to provide scholarships/grants to support those individuals seeking careers or further education in the survey and spatial sectors. In particular, for those who have financial or other barriers to pursuing tertiary education.
Well done Francesca!
