S+SNZ Conference 2020 - Unlocking New Zealand's Development
2-4 November 2020, Rotorua
Survey and Spatial New Zealand (S+SNZ) Annual Conference is the biggest CPD event of the year for surveying and spatial professionals. It invites sharing of knowledge amongst peers, bringing together networking opportunities for all delegates and is an essential event for your professional development and connectivity to the sector.
The purpose of this event is to facilitate the creation of a memorable learning and networking experience for all delegates; enriching their conference experience with diverse opportunities and providing meaningful interactions.
Unlocking New Zealand's development is a major priority of the New Zealand Government.
The location of the conference, Rotorua (New Zealand), offers an example of the regional centres the government has in mind for development. It is also a good example of some of their Initiatives (think 1 billion trees). Survey and spatial professionals are reacting to government priorities and are ready to act on development goals. New Zealand's development is important for surveyors and spatial professionals as they know that government priorities will affect their work and income. Everyone in New Zealand is affected - the government sets national priorities and due to these priorities, survey and spatial companies working in regional centers are especially impacted.
The theme ‘Unlocking New Zealand's Development’ is timely with the choice of Rotorua as a conference location. We will aim to discuss challenges in New Zealand, which include climate change and developments outside of Auckland.
The call for abstracts, speakers and papers is open until 5pm, 06 March 2020.

In a rapidly evolving external environment we are positioning ourselves for the future.
We are a very diverse group of professionals and we all make important contributions to the built environment. Working together helps us all remain at the cutting-edge of technology. Everything we do in communities, rural and urban, is shaped by the expertise of surveying and spatial professionals somewhere along the way.
By sharing concepts, ideas and knowledge we all have outstanding opportunities ahead to create more robust communities throughout New Zealand. Visit the conference website www.surveyspatialnzconference.org
