Global Surveyors' Day Celebrations

The first Global Surveyors' Day was celebrated in different ways last week by NZIS, members and the Survey School.

Michelle Bain, NZIS Board member was interviewed on Wednesday morning’s Radio Live show where she was able to set Mark Sainsbury straight on the critical work that survey and spatial people undertake. Read the news story

Several Rotorua and Bay of Plenty members celebrated in true Cranworx style by mountain biking amongst the redwoods in Whakarewarewa Forest. They started at Eight Mile Gate then rode the Yellow Brick Road, Pondy Elevator, Moerangi Rd and Timewarp to Trig ALQB. After a recovery beer and to celebrate all things Surveying, the group then rode down the Split Enz, Pondy New, Rollercoaster and Moonshine tracks.
