New Emerging Leader's Programme

Invitation - New Emerging Leader's Programme

One of the priorities of Survey and Spatial NZ is the professional development of the young people who will be our industry leaders in the years ahead, and we’re aware of the need for our sector to keep evolving and adapting to the modern needs of members and the public.

The new Survey and Spatial NZ Emerging Leader's Programme is an important step toward this goal, in that it allows young members the opportunity to be involved in the governing bodies of our organisation.

Acceptance into the programme is by application, and successful applicants will have an opportunity to have direct insight into the inner workings of S+SNZ across a wide range of disciplines or governance committees. The opportunity of working with passionate professionals working for the betterment of our industry is valuable for your own professional development and for the future of the industry. Participants will gain experience in different disciplines, policy and decision making, and governance. Your participating will mark you out as a future leader of S+SNZ and within the wider industry.

Participants in similar programmes in other organisations have gone on to serve at senior levels both within their organisations and professionally.

If you’re interested in getting involved and you can satisfy the criteria below, we would love to hear from you:

  • You’re a fully paid up S+SNZ member
  • You will be under 35 years of age on 30 October 2021
  • Your employer has consented to you participating in the programme (while time commitments will vary depending on where you are placed, you will probably need to commit 2-4 hours every 4-6 weeks).

Applications have now closed and the final decision on which governance body a successful applicant will be appointed to, will be made by an appointed Panel.
