Utilising Lidar Terrain Data for Surveyors 101

The LINZ PGF Lidar Programme has aerial lidar capture of much of regional NZ already in progress or scheduled.

A key deliverable will be a new national terrain model of unprecedented resolution and accuracy – all publicly accessible under the NZ Government open data mandate.

This presents many opportunities for surveyors and others to leverage off lidar datasets for existing and new geospatial business applications.

The webinar aims to show how lidar data will become increasingly accessible to surveyors via the OpenTopo web portal.

We will also preview some other freeware/shareware tools which can be utilised to extract lidar terrain data into formats compatible with typical surveyor workflows.
