Andrew registered as a surveyor in 1990, after completing a Bachelor of Surveying with Distinction at the University of Otago. He has worked as a consulting surveyor in private practice ever since.
He has always been an active member of S+SNZ, and has a twenty-year history of service at branch and national level. Over the last ten years, Andrew has been on the Auckland Branch Executive, serving as Secretary, Treasurer and was the Branch Chair for nearly five years.
Andrew has broad survey experience, but in recent years has been described as a cadastral surveying enthusiast. He was part of the Land Title Surveys Revision Committee, which was responsible for organising and writing the web-based second edition of Land Title Surveys in NZ. He is currently on the Cadastral Stream Leadership Team and has organised and presented at a number of seminars and webinars for the stream.
He has a strong interest in educating and encouraging younger surveyors and is always mentoring a survey graduate, or two.
