2018 Cadastral Law Exam Stats

2018 Cadastral Law Examination results

The 2018 Cadastral Law Examination results have been notified to candidates. Seventy-five candidates sat the examination and 55 passed (representing 73%) and 20 failed (representing 27%). The pass mark was 60%. The highest score was 90% and the lowest score was 35%.

Survey and Spatial New Zealand has compiled analytical data about the exams and candidates performance as a whole. The graphs show the percentage of maximum marks, middle marks and zero marks for each exam question.

  • The grey bar represents the percentage of candidates who achieved a full mark for the question.
  • The yellow bar represents the percentage of candidates who achieved within the range of middle marks (i.e marks that were not a full mark or a zero mark).
  • The red bar represents the percentage of candidates who achieved a zero mark.

Not all questions were attempted by all candidates, therefore, the percentage in axis Y shows the number of candidates that attempted the question.

I'd like to congratulate the candidates that passed the exam and look forward to seeing them attending the Professional Entrance examinations in the future.

A big thank you to the Examination Panel Cadastral Examiners who dedicated many volunteer hours preparing the exam, marking and re-marking the exam papers. Without their dedication to the exam process the profession would not be able to maintain the high standards we set for ourselves.

Thanks to all the businesses who provided a venue and support persons to supervise the exam.

Ngā mihi,

Jo Johnston - Chairperson Examinations Panel
