This award celebrates excellence in the field of Cadastral surveying, gives recognition to the achievements of members at the top of their game and provides a way to inform others of the impressive achievements of our members.

The winners of this year's Cadastral Survey of the Year award were announced at the Dunedin "Marking the Journey" conference Awards dinner held at Otago University.

2023 CADASTRAL SURVEY OF THE YEAR

GOLD – Ben Smith, Newton Survey (DP 572823)
Mount Ella Station – conversion of a remote dairy farm, east of Murchison, to a large scale hop growing operation.

SILVER – Mark Geddes, TL Survey Services (DP 548099)
The Oddity – a highly complex subdivision which encountered numerous conflicts with the cadastral record.

BRONZE – Alex Harrington, BECA (SO 577255)
Legalisation survey involving the survey and establishment of over 5.5km of new MHWS boundary with UAV in Manukau Harbour.
